A 60-year-old Chicago man lost his life after a boating incident in Lake Michigan. His family stated that he was moving his boat from Chicago to Racine for summer. About 4 45 pm, 911 receive the call that the sailboat was possibly crashed on the sandbar near the Wind Point lighthouse.
The report says that the motor was running with no one on the boat. US Coast guards started their search and after three hours they finally locate the man under the water just 2 miles away from shore, south of Myers Park.
He was unresponsive while wearing his personal floating device. The investigation reveals that there is no foul play in his drowning.
