Aaron Timmerman at Split Rock Lighthouse

Aaron Timmerman was 42 years old when he was drowned in Lake Superior. He went to the lake with a group of divers just north of Split Rock Lighthouse up the North Shore at the popular site of the Madeira shipwreck. Witnesses reported that they saw Aaron’s surface and calls for help when he went inside water again.

Two members of his dive team were able to locate him at the bottom of Lake Superior. They found him unresponsive, brought him to the shore, and start giving him CPR. He was transported via helicopter to a landing zone at Gooseberry Falls State Park but pronounced dead later on.
