Alex Ottley at Peacock Point

Alex Ottley, a 9-year-old kid was drowned in  Lake Erie near Peacock Point while trying to save his cousin. Alex with two young cousins was sitting on the ice shelf in the cottage community of Peacock Point when a wave knocked an 8-year old into the water. Alex jumped after him and reaches for him. The 8-year-old was saved by adults but Alex went underwater. There was an extensive search to find his body but after 11 days when his body was not found the rescue workers stop looking for him. His body was recovered on March 24.
