Amit Patel at Lake Michigan

Amit Patel was 31 years old when he was drowned in Lake Michigan. According to the police, Amit jumped into the lake while trying to save himself when the police approached him to find out his identity. The police were closing the park and clearing out loiterers including Patel when they asked for his name. He was underwater for 45 minutes before the rescue crew found him in critical condition. They took him to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
