An Unknown man lost his life in Lake Erie near Sims Park.

According to Euclid Fire Chief Jay Womack, they were called to the scene at about 10:34 am when a man entered the water from the pier and did not resurface.

The US Coast Guard and ODNR fire department responded and assisted in the search.

They were able to locate the victim at about 12:15 pm.

They immediately transferred him to Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner where he was pronounced dead.
