Andrew John Vache at Portage Lake harbor

Andrew John Vache was 33 years old when he was drowned in Lake Michigan near Portage Lake harbor. He was drowned because his kayak was capsized in 2-foot waves. The man was in the water shouting for help when the crew members arrived to save him. He was taken to West Shore Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
