Ayala Lopez at Marquette’s Lower Harbor

Ayala Lopez was in his early 30’s when he lost his life in Lake Superior while kayaking on March 12, 2023. He was reported missing around 8:30 pm on March 12 after his kayak was washed ashore without him.

The United State Coast Guards, Troopers and Marquette Police officers started looking for Ayala and they found him deceased at about 11:00 pm that night.
