Brandon Alves at Geneva State Park

Brandon Alves was 20 years old when his body was pulled from Lake Erie at Geneva State Park. He was drowned while trying to swim across the channel at the mouth of Geneva State Park Marina harbor. Alves was swimming with his girlfriend when she was able to bring herself to the shore and shouted for help. The emergency rescue teams arrive at the scene in less than 10 minutes and bring Alves to the shore. They later transported him to UH Geneva Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
