Brent Coursen at Lions Park Beach

Brent Coursen was 44 years old when he was drowned in Lake Michigan near Lions Park while trying to save his two children. The children were caught in the rip current and were struggling in the water. The siblings were saved by St. Joseph Reserve Officer Everett Gaston. Brent was also taken out of water unresponsive and pronounced dead later.
