Christian D. Gothgen at Lake Ontario

Christian D. Gothgen was 49 years old when he was drowned and pronounced dead at Eastern Niagara Hospital-Newfane. He was found unresponsive and not breathing by rescue members. According to a witness, he saw Gothgen on a small sail boat when about 4 pm they saw him in distress and calling for help. He immediately called 911 for help and saw Gothgen trying to swim to the shore when a rescue boat was able to reach him. Another Witness told police that his sailboat tipped twice in Marina.
