Darinanne Torres was just 13 years old when she was drowned in Lake Michigan at Loyola Beach. Darinanne was swimming with four other girls when she and one other girl who was 14 years old started to struggle. The First responder saves the other girl but Darinanne went inside the water for 45 minutes until her body was found.
According to the Chicago Park District, swimming was only allowed when the lifeguards were on the duty from 11 am to 7 pm daily. Darinanne and her friends were swimming half-hour later than this time when the incident happens.
