Darylle Phoeur was 17 years old when he was drowned in Lake Erie on Sunday while swimming. Darylle went underwater near the CEI Power Plant and Avon Water Works on Sunday around 6:45 pm. He went there with his Uncle Randy Cham, Cousin Devontae Khay, and one other person. Cham started struggling in the water so Phoeur swam back to him to get him out of the water. Cham was rescued by other swimmers nearby on the raft but Phoeur went underwater and couldn’t be found. The coast guard deployed their helicopter and dive team for the desperate search of Daryll. It was then Monday morning around 6:45 am when Avon Lake firefighters went back in the water and came out with Phoeur’s body.
