David Michael Vanzandt, a co-founder of Cleveland Underwater Explorers was 70 years old when he drowned in Lake Erie while Scuba diving.
David died while exploring east of Cleveland when he did not submerge after 2 hours of diving.
The man waiting for him above the water called the US Coast Guards, and they searched to rescue David.
The divers of the rescue teams searched 66 feet deep to find David, and they were able to locate him around 6:30 pm.
He was taken out of the water and was pronounced dead at the scene.
There is an ongoing investigation into David’s drowning because he was a professional diver.
