According to the deputies, Dennis W. Shaw & Willard E. Slider were drowned in Lake Huron at Saginaw Bay. They were doing fishing when their ATV fell into the ice around 9:30 am on Sunday. Before drowning, one of the fishermen sends a voicemail for help to another fisherman who was doing fishing in the nearby area. But the mail was not delivered till 2:30 pm.
Once the mail was received, the fisherman called 911 for help. Deputies with the help of other fishermen tried to search and found Shaw & Slider. Finally, they located their bodies about 900 feet away in an ice hole. They were immediately taken to Scheurer Hospital where the family members positively identified both of them.
