Dr. Donald Liu at Cherry Beach

Dr. Donald Liu a great surgeon at the University of Chicago Medicine’s Comer Children’s Hospital drowned in Lake Michigan while attempting to save two children who were caught in a rip current. He was just 50 years old. According to the police reports, Liu saw two twelve years old, boys were caught in trouble while swimming. So he rushed into the water to help them. Those two boys were able to reach the shore but Donald was swept away by a rip current.
