James G. David at Saginaw Bay

James David was 62 years old when he lost his life while trying to save his 3-year-old Grandson. According to the reports, Bay County Central Dispatch unit receives the call at about 4:07 pm from a 9-year-old boy saying that his three-year-old brother fell into the water while they were fishing on a 17-foot boat and after him, his father and grandfather both jumped to save him.

The older boy accurately describe the location to the rescue department informing that his brother was wearing the life jacket while his father and grandfather are not wearing any jackets. There is another boat in that area with father and son and they pulled the 3 year old boy and his father up to their boat.

The Grandfather, James was unconscious by that time in the water and he was pulled out by the rescue teams. He was given CPR and then taken to McLaren Bay Region hospital in amubulance where the staff pronounced him dead later on.
