A 13-year-old Javiair Davis-Cuyler drowned tragically in Lake Erie near Cedar Beach.

According to City Fire Department officials, the boy jumped into the water at about 4:20 p.m. and did not resurface.

Rescue divers and teams from the city went into the water and located the boy within a short span of time.

He was transferred to Brooks-TLC Hospital by Alstar Ambulance where he was pronounced dead.
