Javier Rivera at Lake Michigan

Javier Rivera was 19 years old when he was pulled from Lake Michigan unconscious on Monday night from the Ohio Street Beach. A woman around 9 pm called the police that someone is drowning in the beach. The man swam to the buoy about 50 yards offshore but couldnt make it. According to police, he was a part of group of friends who went for nighttime swim. The Fire Department divers and helicopter located the man and transmitted him to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
