Joseph D. Quagliano at Horseshoe Island

Joseph D. Quagliano was 20 years old when he was drowned in Lake Michigan at Horseshoe Island. He was reported missing on Saturday night. He was believed to be doing Kayaking from Nicolet Bay to Horseshoe Island where he was expected to return at around 4 pm.

His family informed Door County Sheriff’s Department at about 9 pm when Quagliano was not returned. An extensive search was started on Saturday night which ended up on Wednesday when Quagliano’s body was found at about 100 yards from Horseshoe Island off of Peninsula State Park.
