Kevin Dammen at Apostle Islands

Kevin Dammen was 20 years old when he went to Lake Superior with his brother and 2 college friends. According to reports, he was doing Kayaking when his Kayak was capsized. He encounters 4-foot waves which results in capsizing his Kayak. The other three went to help him but Dammen told them to help another person who was also drowning. When they reach the shore, they lost sight of Dammen. The US Coast guards found Dammen’s body about 8 pm after he was in the water for several hours.
