Kevin Thomas Ketchum at Lake Michigan

Kevin Thomas Ketchum was 53 years old when he was drowned in Lake Michigan while trying to save his two children from drowning. On Aug 4, about 5:36 pm, Kevin Thomas was vacationing with his family when his two boys started to struggle in high waves during swimming. He went inside the water to save them and drowned. All the victims were retrieved by EMS personnel from the water. The boys did not need any treatment but Kevin was taken to Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital and then airlifted to U.P. Health System Marquette in critical condition. He later died on August 17.
