Mark Scheuer at GRAND HAVEN

Mark Scheuer was 49 years old when he was drowned in Lake Michigan in a struggle to save his 9-year-old son. The rescuers found Mark’s body about 40 feet beyond the swim buoys. Mark was with his family on Friday night at the beach. The waves are high and there was a red flag as a sign of warning. Soon afterward, Mark disappears in the waves, and despite the help of other people, including his own elder son, they cannot save him. A full search was conducted by the rescuers and they found his body around midnight.
