Mary E. Creighton at Wendt Beach

Mary E. Creighton was 51 years old when she was drowned in Lake Erie while trying to save her 11-year daughter and one another child. The body of Mary was found after one hour of the report that two children and a woman were in distress inside the water. It was just before 7 pm that the incident was reported. The mother went after her two daughters. The 10-year-old girl made it to the shore herself but the other daughter was missing. Lt. Bradley DiMartino spotted the head of someone where the two were last seen. Finally, he was able to bring the 11-year-old girl to the shore and take her to the hospital. The Body of Mary was found after one hour of searching.
