Mateusz Janus at Georgian Bay

The Ontario Provincial Police said that they recovered the body of Mateusz Janus from the waters of Georgian Bay at around 8 pm Monday. Janus was 29 years old when he and his 36-year-old friend set out on a small canoe but without any safeties.

Their Canoe capsized and both men went inside the water. A passerby Kayakar helps the 36-year-old man and takes him out of the water. He was further treated in the hospital for hypothermia caused by the cold water.

Police said that they will conduct an autopsy to find out the exact cause of Janus’s death.
