Mauricio Torres-Plascencia at Milwaukee River

Mauricio Torres-Plascencia was 21 years old when his body was recovered from the Milwaukee River on November 12.

Milwaukee firefighters were called to the scene at about 2:30 pm when a body was found floating in the river at North Broadway and Erie Street.

Witnesses told the authorities that the man jumped into the water on November 5 and soon became distressed.

The rescue authorities searched for Mauricio for 2 days but were unsuccessful.

Mauricio’s mother told authorities that his son was depressed, and his death was ruled a suicide.
