Miguel Harvey was 49 years old when he was drowned in Lake Ontario near Southwick Beach State Park while swimming. Miguel went to the beach with his wife and children to play on the beach and swim in Lake Ontario. His other relatives were also present there.
It was when some family members decided to go for a swim. The waves are not high at that time but the undercurrent was definitely a serious issue. Miguel who was in a dive team at younger age went out further in the water.
It could have been a mixture of undertow and waves that Miguel went almost 100 yards off the shore. It was around 7 pm when the first bystander started looking for Miguel who went underwater. The rescue crews take the help of a helicopter drone and plane as well and find the body of Miguel after three hours of search.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
