Nick Walton at Point Betsie

Nick Walton, lost his life tragically while competing in the Canoe Competition. The incident happens when Nick was competing with many other racers in a canoe competition that happens between Point Betsie and Peterson Beach.

Many racers were facing difficulties because of strong wind and the water temperature is somewhat high than 50 degrees. The Michigan Canoe Racing Association saw many racers pulled out of their boat and struggling in the water when they call for the first responders for help.

Many of the racers were saved but Nick, unfortunately, went inside the water. He was taken out of the water after half an hour and taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

On investigation, it was revealed that the race was not officially conducted by Michigan Canoe Racing Association but still they mourn the loss of Nick.
