Noel Hernandez at Waukegan Municipal Beach

Noel Hernandez was 36 years old when he was drowned in Lake Michigan near Waukegan Municipal Beach while swimming. The Waukegan fire and police responded to the scene at about 4:15 pm on September 6 when a person was reported to be in distress. On arriving at the scene, Hernandez was already removed from the water. He was immediately taken to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan where he was pronounced dead after one hour. The incident remains under investigation as no other person was injured during this time.
