Pedro Lopez Perez at Porter Beach

Pedro Lopez Perez was just 19 years old when he lost his life in Lake Michigan near Porter Beach.

According to the report, the emergency responders were called to the scene at about 6:50 p.m. when Pedro and his 14-year-old female cousin needed some assistance while swimming.

A good Samaritan brings the 14-year-old girl to the shore while Pedro is brought to shore about 20 minutes late.

Both of them were taken to Northwest Health Porter where despite the best efforts Pedro was pronounced dead while his cousin was doing fine.
