Robert Klepacki at Lake Michigan

A family vacation was ruined when Robert was drowned in Lake Michigan. It happened on Sunday afternoon just before 3 pm when Robert went swimming in Lake Michigan. His wife who is watching him from the shore started yelling for help when she could not find him. North Berrien Fire Rescue team arrive at the shore within minutes and they started to search for Robert. They took the help of all the helicopters and divers but could not locate him.  It was after an hour that a woman sitting a mile south on the beach where the man was last seen, saw him floating in the water. She went after him and soon the rescuers were on the scene. Robert was later pronounced dead.
