Shaylean Richards was 32 years old when she was drowned on Tuesday night while swimming at West Barrier Park in Fair Haven. According to Police reports, Shaylean went to the park with her friend and 7 children aging 5-13. It was around 5:30 pm when Shaylean and her friend notice that the waves are high and they are pulling children from the shore, So they enter the water and pulled all children out. It was then when her 13-year-old son notice that his mother was floating motionless in the water. She was pulled out of the water with the help of other adults and began CPR immediately. Later on, she was taken to Oswego Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
