Stephen Easter at North Manitou Island

Stephen Easter was 8 years old when he drowned in Northern Michigan due to capsized boat. According to reports, Easter was with his father when a huge wave capsized their boat. They were coming back from North Manitou Island and were just a mile away from the shore when a wave hit their boat and throw them in 55-degree water. The father made a distress call to 911. They were rescued by coast guards after 5 hours. The boy was sent to Munson Medical Center where he died of hypothermia.
