The drownings death of 2 children prompted police to take serious action about water safety. According to the reports, a child 6 years old from Wikwemikong and another 21 months old were drowned in Lake Huron.
The second drowning happened on Monday when a family gathered for a picnic with their 6 children. The mother looked away to change the diaper of the other infant and when she looks back, the 21 months old was gone.
After a quick search, the infant was founded face down in shallow water.
The father started performing CPR while 911 was called. Police said that parents should not underestimate the danger of shallow water.
