Tyler Cullinan at Lake Erie

Tyler Cullinan was just 31 years old when he lost his life while Scuba diving in the deep waters of Lake Erie. Cullinan was a part of a group that left Barcelona Harbor in New York on Saturday and was diving about 15 miles offshore.

The divers were searching and exploring a shipwreck about 190 feet deep when Cullinan informed them that he was in distress and then become unconscious. Cullinan was brought to the shore by a Border Patrol boat and he was pronounced dead at the nearby hospital.

His death is ruled accidental but the cause is still pending.
