A sad incident drowning happened on Lake Huron when an 8-year-old girl Za-Ryia lost her life while swimming. It was the evening of July 31 when more than 30 family members of Za-Ryia were on the beach gather to spend some time altogether.
Around 5 pm some children went inside the water for children. Soon two girls started to yell. At first, the family members thought that they were playing but then they realize that the 7-year-old and 8-year-old sisters were in distress.
Several people went inside the water to help the girls. One woman assisted with another grab the 7-year-old girl and bring her to the shore. Za-Ryia went inside the water and didn’t resurface.
Rescue workers arrive at the scene and the Iosco Fire and Rescue dive team searched the area and found the body of a girl about 20 meters in the water and 50 yards off the shore.
They take the girl to the Tawas St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Tawas City where she was pronounced dead at 6:55 pm.
